Goliath

The battle of David and Goliath wasn’t about fighting Goliath. Goliath came to taunt and distract Israel (the church) from what they were called to, their identity. 

He didn’t have his armor on and wasn’t ready for battle, he came every day challenging their identity for 40 days before David arrived. 

David’s real battle was not Goliath, it was in the field alone against a lion and a bear.  When confronted with Goliath he was the only one who knew the identity of Israel and stood against Goliath.

Sometimes our battles are perceived as the Goliath in front of us, and the truth is we were already trained to defeat those who challenge our identity in Christ.
